Shredded Coconut without Shredder

Ingredients:
  • Coconut - 1
Method:
  • Clean the coconut for extra fibers on shell.
  • Freeze the coconut for overnight in a plastic bag. Next day, dip it in water for around half an hour. 
  • Using a big knife, break the coconut to two. If frozen coconut, coconut water would be crystals. Take them off to a glass, save for later.   


  • Using a knife, line around the edge of the first half (drag knife between the flesh and shell).
  • You will be able to get big chunks of coconut or even the whole half easily.
  • Take a mixer jar. Pulse the chunks of coconut in batches. Do not overcrowd.
  • After pulsing for a couple of times, grind it in lowest speed for 30seconds or till done. 
  • Shredded coconut is ready.
